IAMF Validator

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Make the export less opaque.

IAMF Validator helps answer a practical question: what does this file actually declare, and what should I review before delivery?

A local inspection tool

The first release connects real file reading, supported metadata parsing, deterministic checks, and exportable evidence. It focuses on .mp4 and standalone .iamf inputs, one file at a time.

It combines TypeScript descriptor checks with a pinned libiamf reference decoder compiled to WebAssembly. Supported Opus and PCM mixes are decoded locally within published resource limits. This project does not claim full standards validation or guaranteed platform compatibility.

Independent by design

IAMF Validator is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of YouTube, Google, Samsung, or AOMedia. Product names identify the formats, tools, and delivery guidance discussed here.

Public technical sources inform the checks. Their scope and recommendations remain visible in the methodology and in each finding. No ratings, certifications, device compatibility results, or successful YouTube upload tests are claimed.

A useful next step

Inspect the final export, read the evidence, and preserve the report. Use a suitable encoding and packaging workflow when changes are needed, then test the actual delivery and playback. Follow the preparation guide or open the validator.
